Foods To Avoid With Diabetes

Managing your diabetes is predicated on many different factors, but one of the most important is the food that you eat. It’s important to make sure your body is getting the necessary nutrients it needs, as well as avoiding the foods that are complicated for your body to process.

According to Authority Nutrition, here are some foods to avoid with diabetes:

  1. Sugary beverages – They are packed with carbs, which can cause blood sugar spikes, as well as fructose which is strongly linked to insulin resistance.
  2. Trans fats – Found in margarines, peanut butter, spreads, creamers, frozen dinners and more, they are linked to increased inflammation and insulin resistance.
  3. White bread, pasta and rice – These are high-carb processed foods which cause spikes in your bloods sugar.
  4. Fruit-flavored yogurt – Yogurt can be a great, healthy food, but fruit-flavored yogurt is usually made with non-fat or low-fat milk and loaded with carbs and sugar.
