Creating A Healthy Diabetes Eating Plan
Having a healthy diabetes diet is important for managing your diabetes. According to the Mayo Clinic a diabetes diet is eating the healthiest foods in moderate amounts and sticking to regular mealtimes. Fruits, vegetables, whole grains and foods that are low in fat and calories are key to maintaining your diabetes.
A healthy eating plan will manage your blood sugar, manage your weight and help control that factors that lead to increased risk of heart disease. While eating the right foods is important, when you eat them is just as important too. Eating three meals-a-day at the normal meal times will help your body to more properly use the insulin it creates or gets from medication.
