Craig Quigley, Executive Director of Hampton Roads Military and Federal Facilities Alliance (HRMFFA) is going to talk to us about the vision and goals of the organization, summarized briefly as follows:

The Hampton Roads Military and Federal Facilities Alliance (HRMFFA) is an initiative of the Hampton Roads Mayors and Chairs Caucus. The Alliance was established to collectively focus area efforts on preserving and growing Federal capabilities within the Hampton Roads region. HRMFFA was incorporated within the Commonwealth of Virginia in March 2006 under the provisions of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 as a tax exempt, not-for-profit corporation. The mission of HRMFFA is to attract, retain and grow military and federal facilities across the region for the common good and welfare of the residents of Hampton Roads. Through regional advocacy and influence, the Alliance acts to attract, retain and grow organizations, capabilities and investments owned, operated or funded by the Federal government. Our vision is to be the location of choice for facilities supporting operations of all branches of the Federal government. Leveraging our location near Washington, DC, our moderate cost of living, our superb quality of life, our educated and disciplined 21st century workforce, our world-class education system, and our spirit of patriotism and love of country. Hampton Roads will be seen as the best possible location for operations of the Federal government.

Craig served over 27 years on active duty, retiring as a Rear Admiral for the U.S. Navy in 2002 and has continued his work in various capacities, including his current role as ED of HRMFFA for the past 9 years.

We are honored to have such a distinguished guest and so my hope is we can get great turnout for this unique opportunity to hear from one of our local / national leaders.
